COFFEE WITH CHRIS...Quiet Generosity…
I saw a video the other day that damn near broke my heart...
An eighty eight year old man, retired military, working the front door at grocery store.
Not because he wanted something to do...but because life had taken things from him that he never expected to lose.
He had worked for GM, counting on a pension and medical coverage that were supposed to carry him through his later years.
Then the deal changed.
His pension disappeared...his medical coverage vanished...and then his wife got sick...really sick...
He burned through everything he had to take care of her...savings gone...home sold...starting over at an age when most men are slowing down.
And then he lost his wife...seven years ago.
Still grieving...still grinding...still showing up...
And unless you knew his story, you would never know it from his outward positive and helpful demeanor towards everyone...
Somebody heard about him...started a GoFundMe for him...and it raised more than $1.6 million dollars...
Total strangers...
Lifting a man they will never meet because something in them recognized the weight he was carrying.
I have seen videos like this before...people helping strangers with groceries or paying for Christmas gifts...dropping envelopes of money without a name attached...monester tips for waiters and waitresses...
It hits me every time.
Quiet generosity...the kind no one brags about...
The kind where nobody owes anybody anything...the kind that comes from a place of love, not performance.
I cannot imagine a better way to spend wealth…than by giving it away.
Not for credit...not for applause...not for a headline...
But because it is who I want to be.
A man who helps people stand again when life has knocked them flat.
A man who remembers what struggle feels like and refuses to look away when he sees it in someone else.
A man who knows that abundance is not something you hoard
it is something you share.
You do not need millions to live that way.
You do not need a foundation...a camera crew...or a fancy social media campaign.
You can start small.
Hold the door...
Cover someone’s coffee...
Pay for a stranger’s lunch...
Give a grocery cart to a mom who looks overwhelmed...
Write a note...
Check on a neighbour...
Tip bigger than normal...
Be kind...be present...be human.
Do something for someone today...without them knowing...without expecting anything in return...without announcing it to the world.
That is real wealth.
That is real leadership.
That is the kind of man I want to be...and the kind of man I want my kids to see.
Because generosity is not about money...it is about heart...and heart is something every one of us can give away...starting now.
Coffee is done...go do something good today, even if no one ever finds out.
Especially if no one ever finds out.

Who is one person you could help today...quietly...anonymously...with zero expectation of return?
Do it...and let that act reshape your heart.
